Located 30 miles west of the loop in downtown Chicago is the beautiful Fox River Valley. The second largest city in Illinois is Aurora, "The City of Lights" a diverse and thriving city of 155,000 people and the county seat of Kane County.
Aurora is flanked by the cities of North Aurora, Montgomery, Naperville, Warrenville, Plainfield, Oswego, Montgomery, and Sugar Grove.
To the north are the tri-cities of Batavia, St Charles and Geneva. These three communities offer a large industrial base and beautiful homes.
In rural Kane County to the west are an abundance of small towns and farms and farmettes. The villages of Hinckley, Big Rock, Elburn, Maple Park, still offer hometown hospitality and affordable living. Yorkville, Plano, Sandwich, Somonauk, Lake Holiday, Waterman, Shabbona, are located a little further west and or south in Dekalb and Kendall counties some of the best schools in the state are found here. Also some of the best fishing in the state.

Greater Chicago is the country's leading rail center and a major industrial, financial and commercial center. Suburbs of Chicago such as Naperville and Oak Brook have become important business centers. Scattered across the northern half of the state are cities with specialized industries Aurora, Peoria, Rock Island , Moline , and Rockford. Important cities in central Illinois include Champaign, Springfield and Decatur.
