Welcome to Lake Holiday

Lake Holiday is a 356 acre man made lake located approximately 90 minutes west of Chicago. The lake is fed from a watershed of approximately 400,000 acres and has a waterhead north of Waterman Illinois. The dam which confines the Somonauk Creek waters is 45 feet high and is a quarter of a mile long. 

The lake is 25' deep at the dam and has an average depth of 15 feet. Somonauk Creek and Stephens Creek as well as many natural springs feed the lake. The lake is just under 3 miles long and has over 8 miles of shoreline.

The community of Lake Holiday is 2.5 square miles and has 1976 residential lots, a club house, 3 beaches, two boat ramps, a park and 9 green areas. Lot sizes are from just over .25 acres and all residents have water access and rights to put a boat on the lake. The limit on motors are 265 Hp and lengths of 21' for motor boats and 26' for pontoons. There are also limited (60) numbers of personal watercraft of jet skis. The residents of Lake Holiday have a water system that is managed by Lake Holiday Utilities Corporation. Individual lots have private sewage facilities. The annual dues are $753 for lots with homes and $713 for vacant lots and that includes waste hauling, recycling, and snow removal on Lake Holidays 20 miles of paved roads.

Utilities are supplied by Common Wealth Edison, Nicor Gas, Verizon and Comcast Cable. High Speed internet is available. 

There are many clubs and organizations which members belong to including a fishing club with their very own fish hatchery. The Garden Club has a house walk and sponsors many activites throughout the year and helps with many of the beautification projects of Lake Holiday.  

The Lake Holiday Property Owners Association is a no-profit corporation and the lake has a security force.
